The Folger Shakespeare Library opened in 1932 as a gift to the American Nation from Henry and Emily Folger. It is the home to the world’s largest and finest collection of Shakespeare materials and to major collection of other rare Renaissance books, manuscripts, and works of Art. Mona was responsible for replacing the existing out dated Fire Alarm system with a new EST 3 Edwards addressable system. Installation was extremely difficult due to the historical architecture of the building. The fire alarm devices had to be incorporated into the existing wood work and plaster finish. The project was awarded the WBC Craftsmanship Award for Special Systems.
